Day 1: Portland and the Emerald City of Seattle

We’ll depart after breakfast for the Portland International Airport. If you are continuing on to Washington, we will make our way down the I-5 corridor to the bustling city of Seattle. Arriving in the late afternoon, we’ll check in to our lodging accommodations at The Motif Hotel where you’ll have time to relax and recharge. As the evening approaches, we’ll regroup for fine dining at Salty’s Restaurant on Alki Beach with views overlooking the Puget Sound and Seattle Skyline.

Day 2: Pike Place Market and Hurricane Ridge

Preferred Lodging: Lake Quinault Lodge: Quinault, WA

Our adventure begins in downtown Seattle at the Pike Place Market, where visitors have been witnessing the flying fish, fresh flowers and amazing food and hand-crafted treasures since 1907. While the Adventure Coach heads to the airport to pick up new travelers, the morning is yours to independently explore Seattle Center. After lunch, we’ll regroup to take the iconic Seattle Ferry across the bay to the Olympic National Park with views of Mt. Rainier looming over the city. Arriving to the park, we’ll venture to the alpine region of Hurricane Ridge where both leisure and active hikes are available. We’ll enjoy hearty appetizers overlooking the park before beginning our scenic drive along the 101, providing up-close views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Lake Crescent. Next, we’ll check in at the historic Lake Quinault Lodge, made famous by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt during a 1937 fact-finding visit. Enjoy your evening at the lodge exploring the surrounding trails or simply taking in the crisp mountain air from the lakeshore.

Day 3: Hoh Rainforest and Wine Pairing Dinner at Ruby Beach

Preferred Lodging: Lake Quinault Lodge: Quinault, WA

Today we’ll visit the lush and unique landscape of the Hoh Rainforest. The leisure walking trails are suitable for all activity levels and introduce visitors to one of the most serene and peaceful destinations on earth. The Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock with other conifers and several deciduous species dominate the region, towering over the lush forest floor. Many are 100s of years old and can reach 250 feet in height and 30 to 60 feet in circumference. A stroll to the Hall of Mosses is especially unique and makes this temperate Rainforest a must-see when visiting the Pacific Northwest. Next, we’ll visit Ruby Beach. Completely void of any buildings, telephone wires or human intervention, this is one of the most relaxing places to explore tides, seabirds, driftwood, monolith rocks and lush foliage. While you explore the beach, enjoy a wine pairing dinner as the sun begins to set. The evening is yours to relax at your Lake Quinault Lodge accommodations.

Day 4: Mt. Rainier National Park, Yakima River and Canyon

Preferred Lodging: Suncadia Mountain Resort: Roslyn, WA

We will rise early and get our start on the three-hour scenic drive to Mt. Rainier National Park for a day of exploring the majestic volcano. Lunch is served by our chef at Paradise Valley with multiple scenic options available. For those who want to hike from Paradise, there are easy, moderate and difficult trails, depending on your desired activity level. Other quick stops throughout the park include the Grove of the Patriarchs and Box Canyon. Our journey will continue to the southeast side of Mt. Rainier and Highway 12 with a beautiful scenic drive towards the Yakima Valley and Canyon. We’ll stop for a special in-field dinner with Yakima Valley wine pairings where eagles, bighorn sheep, elk, deer and other wildlife thrive throughout the canyon. The final leg of our journey will take us into the historic town of Roslyn where we’ll stay at the Suncadia Mountain Resort, a majestic mountain hideaway with opportunities for spa services, golfing, hiking, and beautiful scenery.

With ownership of over 3900 U.S. vineyards, case production in the tens of millions, and exclusive partnerships with wineries around the globe, “the Chateau,” as it is referred to by locals, represents the very best of success in America’s wine industry.
